There's a high percentage of the population in our country who are afro-descendents. However, in ancient times, people with darker skin were taken as slaves, which has made it difficult for them to be able to be considered an equal to people with lighter skin. Even though nowadays it's not like that, at least in most cases, they have problems because of racism and, of course, racists. In Colombia it's not seen in large-scale, but it is still something you would probably see in some places.
In conclusion, we all should do something about it: they're human beings, not monsters. So next time you see an afro-descendent you should just treat him/her the sameway you would like to be treatedd.
You know you are right! . They are human, and we should not only trate they as what they are, we should teach to others that racist is a violation of the fundamental human rights.
ReplyDeleteI think Chells there are two big problems:
ReplyDelete1. The Afro-decendents are like too low profile.
2. We don't search about their situation.
How could we connect our situations if we don't know nothing about the other? This make me kind of sad.. I feel like all this time i've been ignoring people that certainly are very good people! people that maybe have another point of view, whom we can learn too much! We all are part of the same country and the same family. If we are living like strangers in the same house, of course we always will have separated lives, don't you think?
